Armenia and the United Kingdom have entered a new phase of bilateral military relations with plans to appoint defense attachés in both countries.
On May 13, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with UK Minister for the Armed Forces Luke Pollard in Berlin. Their talks focused on key areas of Armenia-UK defense cooperation and prospects for its expansion.
Both sides expressed readiness to invigorate cooperation by assigning defense attachés in each country.
The officials also addressed issues related to regional and international security.
In addition to official meetings, Suren Papikyan held informal discussions with the defense ministers of China, Kazakhstan, and Georgia, the UN Secretary-General, and Germany’s Federal Foreign Minister.
