Births in Armenia reached their lowest point in a century during the first quarter of 2025, according to Mesrop Arakelyan, co-founder of the opposition Country to Live party.
In a Facebook post, Arakelyan wrote, "The lowest birthrate in the past 100 years was recorded in the first quarter of 2025."
He added that in 2024, the birthrate in Armenia declined by 8% compared to 2023. Specifically, 33,648 children were born in 2024, down from 36,590 births in 2023.
