CSTO expects Yerevan and Baku to finalize agreement

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is hopeful that Yerevan and Baku will sign a peace agreement in the near future. The statement was made by CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.

“There have been certain positive developments in the Caucasus. This includes the announcement by the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the completion of negotiations and agreement on the text of an interstate document between the two countries. We hope the document will be signed soon, and we expect its implementation to pave a reliable path to peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” he said, according to TASS.

The CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council meeting is taking place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, which holds the rotating presidency of the organization in 2025. The session is chaired by Vyacheslav Volodin, Speaker of the Russian State Duma and President of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
