Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Annita Demetriou, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Cyprus, held talks in Yerevan, where they highlighted the active political dialogue between the two nations and the growing trend of expanding bilateral cooperation.

The sides discussed the importance of mutual support within international platforms and praised the joint efforts of Armenia and Cyprus in deepening ties with the European Union. Mirzoyan emphasized the effective use of available mechanisms and the importance of support from EU member states.

Both parties agreed that the establishment of resident embassies in Yerevan and Nicosia has provided a solid foundation for enhanced collaboration and the exploration of new areas of mutual interest.

Particular focus was placed on the fields of economy, tourism, and education, with both sides noting the considerable potential for growth in these sectors.

They also addressed regional developments. Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to a lasting peace in the South Caucasus despite existing challenges and outlined steps taken toward normalizing relations with Azerbaijan. He stressed the importance of signing a peace treaty.

Demetriou confirmed Cyprus's support for the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, emphasizing its significance not only for regional stability but also in the context of Armenia’s prospects for EU membership.
