Armenian national football team defender Nair Tiknizyan has announced his intention to leave Moscow’s Lokomotiv.
He is dissatisfied with his playing time.
“I want a change this summer. I’m grateful to Lokomotiv and the head coach, but right now, I’m not even a substitute. That must be accepted with dignity. After the season, I’ll have a conversation with the management and ask to be allowed to leave. Unfortunately, I haven’t won anything in these four years. It’s tough to stay silent for a whole year and pretend everything’s fine. I was ready for anything for that man, but in the end, I became an outcast. That’s life—I accept it,” he said, as quoted by Match TV.
In 2025, Tiknizyan has played the full 90 minutes in only one match—against Akhmat on March 7 in the Russian Premier League.
Tiknizyan joined Lokomotiv in the summer of 2021 for €5.5 million. His contract runs until the end of June 2026. This season, he has scored two goals and provided four assists in all competitions for the club.
