Armenia is prepared to host the next ministerial meeting within the "3+3" regional cooperation platform, a readiness it initially expressed back in 2024. This was confirmed by Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Sputnik Armenia.
In May, Russia’s Ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopyrkin, stated that the upcoming "3+3" regional cooperation meetings are to be held in Yerevan and Baku, in accordance with a rotation agreed upon by the parties.
“The Armenian side expressed its willingness to host the next ministerial meeting during the third session of the “3+3” Regional Consultative Platform, held in Istanbul on October 18, 2024,” the Foreign Ministry noted.
The ministry also clarified that the specific date and location will be announced publicly once details are finalized.
The six-party "3+3" platform for regional consultations on cooperation in the South Caucasus and the Middle East — comprising Russia, Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia — was first proposed in late 2020 by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Georgia has not participated in the three meetings held so far. The latest session, attended by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, took place in Istanbul in October 2024.
