U.S. Senator Steve Daines, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to discuss regional security issues and economic cooperation prospects, according to the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan.
During the meeting, Senator Daines expressed his support for the Trump administration’s stance that “Armenia and Azerbaijan must sign a peace agreement to establish stability and prosperity in the region.”
According to the Armenian government’s statement, Daines thanked the prime minister for the meeting and reaffirmed the United States’ readiness to support Armenia’s democratic development and contribute to regional stability. Prime Minister Pashinyan presented recent regional developments and emphasized the significance of Armenia’s peace agenda for achieving lasting stability in the South Caucasus.
