Armenian centenarians to receive AMD 1 million bonus

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia has proposed a one-time financial assistance payment for citizens who have reached the age of 100. The draft legislation was published for public discussion on May 30.

Under the proposed law, individuals who are 100 years old, eligible for a pension or social benefit, and receive it via non-cash methods will be granted a one-time bonus of 1,000,000 Armenian drams (approximately $2,500). The payout will be processed together with monthly pension or benefit payments scheduled for the upcoming month of 2025.

If the beneficiary receives their pension or benefit in cash, the bonus will only be paid after they switch to a non-cash payment method.

The one-time support will not be granted to individuals who have already received a similar payment of 1,000,000 drams under a decision by the Yerevan City Council. The city authorities will provide a list of those ineligible for the new bonus.

The public consultation on the proposal is open until June 16.
