The fifth Armenia-France decentralized cooperation forum commenced in Goris, Syunik Province. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan emphasized the strategic importance of holding the forum in Syunik, noting the government's dedicated efforts to organize the event at a high level and support joint initiatives. He encouraged active participation in discussions to develop new programs and advance Armenia-France cooperation to a new stage.

Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan highlighted the value of France's support for Armenia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and democratic development. He underscored France's assistance in strengthening Armenia's defense capabilities and economic resilience, as well as in expanding Armenia-EU partnerships and bringing Armenia closer to Europe.

Kostanyan noted that hosting the forum in Goris is logical and expected, given the priority of developing and enhancing the resilience of strategically important regions like Syunik. He pointed to the official opening of France's honorary consulate in Goris as evidence of clear political will. He expressed hope that, following agreements between the two governments, French companies would soon participate in implementing strategically significant infrastructure projects in Syunik.

According to Kostanyan, Armenia-France relations have reached an unprecedented high level, aimed at helping Armenia address regional challenges. He added that cooperation across various sectors continues to develop.

"Despite existing challenges, Armenia is making determined efforts to establish lasting peace in the region, based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the inviolability of borders, which Armenia and Azerbaijan have committed to respecting under the Alma-Ata Declaration," he stated.

Kostanyan also addressed the peace agreement, emphasizing that Armenia is ready to sign and ratify it without delay. He believes that signing and ratifying the agreement is the clearest and most direct way to address current concerns and would usher in a peaceful era of coexistence for the entire region.

During the forum, the official opening of France's honorary consulate in Goris is also planned.
