Syunik governor confirms ongoing nightly gunfire

Syunik Governor Robert Ghukasyan told reporters that “for more than three months, systematic gunfire has been heard at night.”

He noted that the shooting originates from the adversary and is conducted with direct targeting. In some cases, infrastructure and livestock are damaged, Aysor.am reported.

“It’s very unfortunate—they’ve been shooting, and it’s been more than three months that gunfire is systematically heard at night,” Ghukasyan said.

He also emphasized that the Ministry of Defense has recorded the incidents and holds a clear position on the matter.

“I don’t really have anything to add to what the Defense Ministry has said,” Ghukasyan added.

The Ministry of Defense had earlier issued a statement confirming that on May 30, between 00:10 and 01:00, Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire in the direction of the village of Khoznavar in Syunik province, damaging a residential bathroom and injuring a small ruminant.
