EAEU-Pakistan agreement not on member states' agenda

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that Armenia does not have diplomatic relations with Pakistan, and there are no discussions among Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states regarding an agreement with Pakistan.

This clarification addresses recent media reports suggesting potential talks between the EAEU and Pakistan about the latter's membership in the Union, with claims that Armenia opposed Pakistan's accession.

Pakistan remains one of the few countries that has not recognized Armenia's independence. Moreover, Pakistan actively supported Azerbaijan during the 44-day war and continues to maintain close military cooperation with both Azerbaijan and Turkey. These countries regularly conduct joint military exercises. Notably, the Prime Minister of Pakistan participated in the opening of an airport in the occupied Lachin region alongside Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
