Government allocates 16.1 billion drams for road repairs

The Armenian government has approved the reallocation of 13.8 billion drams from the state budget to fund the overhaul and construction of transport infrastructure, including roads. An additional 2.3 billion drams has been designated for medium-level repairs, according to Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan.

Khudatyan explained that the funds will also cover the acquisition of technical and design documentation, expert assessments, and payments for completed works and ready-made projects—up to 5% of the latter’s cost, Panorama.am reports.

The scope of major road repairs will include 58 kilometers in total: 16.1 km of interstate roads, 25 km of national roads, and 16.9 km of regional roads. Two bridges are also scheduled for renovation.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan outlined each road section and bridge included in the plan.

Fifty items are on the government’s meeting agenda, three of which were formally presented.
