Armenia, Russia maintain working ties despite disagreements: Mirzoyan

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that Armenia and Russia continue to maintain highly cooperative relations.

“We strive to ensure that all obligations defined on paper are fully implemented, meaning we aim for the complete realization of the agreements we have,” he said, according to Aysor.am .

He highlighted that beyond bilateral agreements, Armenia and Russia are closely collaborating within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), where Armenia continues to benefit from active cooperation.

“This doesn’t mean everything is smooth and perfect. There are issues—important questions—on which our Russian colleagues have their own views, their own interpretation of events and explanations for why things turned out as they did. For us, the truth is entirely different, and our Russian partners are aware of our perspective,” the minister stated.

Mirzoyan stressed that there are areas where disagreements exist, but there are also many fields where the sides find common ground and maintain a normal, healthy working relationship.

“We live normally; the world is not collapsing,” he added. “We see fault in them in some matters, they perhaps see some fault in us. We’re convinced we are right. That’s part of the relationship—some disagreements, but many points of agreement and productive ties.”

He concluded that relations remain sound: “I think this is how all relationships work—there are ups and downs, but the foundation is solid.”
