On June 11, a delegation led by Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan, accompanied by Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan, according to the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.
Berset laid a wreath at the memorial dedicated to the victims of the genocide. Delegation members placed flowers at the eternal flame and observed a moment of silence to honor the memory of the innocent victims.
Earlier, National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan met with Alain Berset and expressed gratitude for his visit. Simonyan also raised concerns over Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan, unlawful detentions, and missing persons.
