No border changes as Armenia monitors Iran developments

Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan stated that Armenia responded swiftly to the situation unfolding in Iran. He emphasized that "no border movement has been recorded at this time."

According to Aysor.am, Armenia is closely monitoring developments arising in Iran.

“At this point, there is no concern that this could impact our relations with our neighbor [referring to Azerbaijan], because dialogue continues and specific processes are underway,” Simonyan noted.

He also confirmed that immediately following the incidents in Tehran, the Armenian side conducted a risk assessment.

“Yes, we evaluated the situation and held discussions very early in the morning—before dawn. We are in contact with international partners,” Simonyan said.

According to the Speaker of the National Assembly, no movement has been registered along the border areas at this time.

“The risks of war are currently minimal. We must work to neutralize them completely. The government is taking active steps,” he added.

Zareh Sinanyan, Chief Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs at the Prime Minister's Office, said there are arrivals from Iran, but the flow is not significant.
