Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will participate via video link in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) events set to take place in Minsk, according to Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov. Speaking to journalists following a briefing with President Alexander Lukashenko, Ryzhenkov detailed the participation of world leaders in the upcoming Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting and the Eurasian Economic Forum, reports BELTA.
All other heads of EAEU member states—Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan—have confirmed their in-person attendance.
A plenary session featuring the President of Belarus and heads of foreign delegations is scheduled as part of the forum. During this session, participants will present their views on regional development, trade and economic relations within the EAEU, and global financial ties. Heads of state will also share their perspectives on the current global situation.
Among observer states, Cuban President Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez is expected to make an official visit. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has also confirmed his participation. Iran's President may attend as well, though his visit remains tentative.
“We are still hopeful about the Iranian President’s official visit. Despite the regional challenges, we wish for a speedy resolution and peace in the area. As of now, the Iranian delegation's participation is still being planned,” Ryzhenkov noted.
The EAEU Supreme Council meeting is scheduled for June 27, following the forum. Leaders will discuss the current agenda, make decisions on the Union’s future, and sign two economic cooperation agreements—one with Mongolia and one with the United Arab Emirates. These agreements aim to enhance trade and economic relations between the EAEU and these countries.
The forum will take place on June 26 at Minsk’s “Belexpo” international exhibition center. Over 2,000 participants from 29 countries have registered, indicating strong interest. Attendees include representatives of EAEU member states and Belarus’s key partners from the CIS, Asia, and Africa.
