Zeynalyan elected as Constitutional Court judge

The National Assembly has confirmed Artak Zeynalyan’s candidacy for the position of judge at the Constitutional Court. The vote tally was 67 in favor, none against.

After being elected, Zeynalyan took an oath at the podium, pledging to uphold the supremacy of the Constitution, act independently and impartially, and remain faithful to the judge’s role, reports 1lurer.am .

Zeynalyan was a member of the “Republic” party and its faction in Yerevan’s City Council. In line with the requirements for Constitutional Court nominations, he resigned from the party and relinquished his council mandate before being nominated.

Vahe Grigoryan resigned from the Constitutional Court after being elected to a nine-year term at the European Court of Human Rights. Artak Zeynalyan was nominated to fill the vacant seat.
