Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on his Facebook page that the plan to nationalize “Electric Networks of Armenia” (ENA) is now complete.
“The plan to nationalize Electric Networks of Armenia is ready. We will move into the operational phase very soon. All procedures will follow the legislation of the Republic of Armenia,” he wrote.
Earlier, Pashinyan stated that a bill on ENA nationalization was already under parliamentary consideration. He added that “the Church, in this case, serves merely as a smokescreen for the soon-to-be former owners of ENA. The company’s operations have nearly led to an energy crisis.”
On June 18, Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission imposed a 10 million dram fine on ENA.
