Opposition warns of dictatorship, calls for national unity

Armenia’s parliamentary “Hayastan” faction issued a statement declaring that the current government “has crossed all boundaries of legality and morality.”

The statement accuses Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s administration of attacking the foundations of Armenian statehood, including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the army, the Church, and the diaspora, while “surrendering Artsakh.”

The bloc claims Pashinyan is using terrorism to suppress dissent and distract from alleged national betrayal, employing fabricated charges, psychological pressure, and unlawful arrests against opposition figures and their supporters.

“Such actions threaten all who care about Armenia, both inside the country and across the diaspora,” the statement warns.

The bloc calls on all “dignified Armenians” to unite and stop what it calls the “final stage of Armenia’s transformation into a dictatorship,” remove the government, and restore national dignity.

“This is today’s top priority—and it will be accomplished. Soon,” the statement concludes.
