FlyOne Armenia has officially registered its first Airbus A321 aircraft, designated EK-FOD. The plane arrived in Yerevan from Larnaca, Cyprus, on June 24, following maintenance, according to Hetq.
EK-FOD has already completed its first flight on the Yerevan–Moscow route.
Manufactured in 2006, this aircraft has been operated in several countries, including El Salvador, Peru, Latvia, and Turkey. Before joining the Armenian registry, it was registered in Latvia as YL-LDQ and was part of the fleet of SmartLynx, a leasing company. Between 2023 and 2025, it served Turkish airline AJet (formerly AnadoluJet). In January 2024, the plane was withdrawn from service and underwent a series of technical transfers—from Turkey to the Czech Republic, then to the UK in February, and finally to Cyprus on May 28.
This is the first Airbus A321 in FlyOne Armenia’s fleet, which until now consisted of Airbus A319 and A320 models. Alongside EK-FOD, the airline currently operates two Airbus A320 aircraft registered in Armenia: EK-FOB (since May 2023) and EK-FOC (since March 2025).
The airline also leases additional aircraft: one A320 from Moldova’s Fly One (ER-00007) and two A320s from Cambodia’s Sky Angkor Airlines (XU-727 and XU-730).
According to FlyOne Armenia, the A321 was acquired through ownership rather than leasing. The airline reports having nine aircraft, five of which it owns. However, only six are currently operational, with three registered in Armenia.
FlyOne Armenia LLC was established in March 2021 and operated its first flight in December of the same year. It is a joint Armenian-Moldovan venture involving the Sukiasyan brothers.
Forty-one percent of FlyOne Armenia is owned by businessman Eduard Sukiasyan, brother of MP Khachatur Sukiasyan. Another 4% is held by Larisa Sahakova, mother of former director Artur Poghosbekyan, a Russian citizen; the share is registered in her name to meet Armenian ownership requirements. An additional 9% is owned by SIL Capital LLC, chaired by Eduard Sukiasyan. The remaining shares belong to Sasun Gasparyan from Ujan village, a figure linked to the Sukiasyan business group.
