The no-confidence petition against the Prime Minister, initiated by the I Have Honor parliamentary bloc, currently has only six signatures—all from members of the same faction. This was confirmed by the bloc’s leader, Hayk Mamijanyan, according to Radar Armenia.
“Discussions are ongoing. We are ready to support the candidacy of Archbishop Ajapahyan if he and His Holiness agree. This is not a precondition. At the same time, we expect that if he declines, all those supporting the process will back the already launched initiative with Davit Hambardzumyan as the candidate. That would be logical, as our goal is the liberation of the country,” Mamijanyan stated.
He emphasized that regardless of the candidate, the initiative must secure 54 MP signatures before its official launch to minimize potential risks.
Regarding Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan's reluctance to be nominated, Mamijanyan said they currently have no additional information.
According to him, no member of the "Armenia" bloc has signed the petition yet.
“There is one no-confidence petition with Davit Hambardzumyan as the candidate. It has six signatures. The issue will be resolved only when MPs from the 'Armenia' faction sign it—there is no alternative. They have not come forward, they have not signed. I believe our colleagues understand that joining the no-confidence motion means either physically signing the document or authorizing their signature, which they have not done,” Mamijanyan noted.
Previously, the Armenia bloc announced readiness to participate in the process with 28 signatures, but the I Have Honor faction bloc claims these signatures were not included in their prepared document.
