Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that certain forces are displeased with the strategic alliance between Russia and Azerbaijan, which has provoked anger and interference aimed at hindering further cooperation.

“One must remember that these [relations between Russia and Azerbaijan] carry the nature of a strategic alliance, and of course, there are forces that do not like that. Beyond the formal label, these relations embody profound meaning — our shared history as part of a single state,” she said on Solovyov Live, as reported by RIA Novosti.

The diplomat emphasized that the term “strategic alliance” itself reflects deep historical cooperation.

“It is about personal ties, historical challenges we have faced together, and naturally this provokes anger and a desire in certain forces to obstruct it,” she concluded.
