Political consultations between the foreign ministries of Armenia and Belgium were held in Yerevan. The talks were led by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan and Birgit Stevens, Director General for Bilateral Affairs of the Belgian Foreign Ministry.
The two sides discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, reaffirming their mutual commitment to expanding multi-sectoral cooperation. Deputy Minister Kostanyan emphasized the importance of enriching bilateral relations through new strategic directions.
The officials also reviewed steps toward deepening Armenia-EU partnership, acknowledging the active cooperation established across international platforms.
Deputy Minister Kostanyan briefed his counterpart on the current status of Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Turkey normalization efforts, reiterating Armenia’s political will to resolve relations with its neighbors.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international issues.
The parties discussed preparations for Armenia’s hosting of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) in 2026, and the 8th European Political Community Summit.
