Levon Kocharyan, a parliament member from the Armenia faction, clarified that the faction never opposed David Hambardzumyan’s candidacy, instead publicly declared its support for him in response to questions about the impeachment process, according to Panorama.am .
He emphasized that the faction issued an official statement detailing when they would join the impeachment process.
“Regarding David, we stated that we are in favor—we even showed the signatures to avoid unnecessary discussion,” he said.
Addressing the candidacy of Archbishop Mikayel, Kocharyan clarified that it was not initiated by them. “There was already an initiative, and we said that if the Archbishop agrees, we will also support with our signatures,” he noted.
Earlier, the Armenia faction expressed readiness to participate in the process with 28 signatures. However, the I Have Honor faction stated that those signatures were not actually included in their drafted document.
