Armenian, Jordanian Foreign Ministers hold phone call

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al-Safadi held a phone conversation on July 8 to discuss the regional security situation and emerging humanitarian challenges.

The officials addressed steps toward establishing peace, the obstacles along this path, and the ongoing efforts to overcome them. They also explored opportunities to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including promoting business ties, people-to-people contacts, and tourism.

The conversation also touched upon key topics related to multilateral cooperation, with both sides emphasizing the importance of interaction based on shared interests.

On March 13, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry announced that it accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on two previously unresolved articles and that the Peace Treaty is ready for signing. Armenia expressed readiness to begin consultations on the time and venue for the signing. However, Baku has set new preconditions and stated that it is too early to discuss the signing timeline.
