Armenian actors Karen Karagulyan and Vache Tovmasyan have arrived in Yerevan to participate in a discussion about the film Anora at the Golden Apricot International Film Festival, festival artistic director Karen Avetisyan announced at a press conference. Director Shaun Beyker will join the conversation via video link.
“There is tremendous interest in Anora, especially regarding the involvement of Armenian actors, so we decided to bring the discussion to Yerevan in a live format to share both critical and celebratory views,” Avetisyan said, according to Sputnik Armenia.
He emphasized that, following lengthy negotiations after last year’s festival, the organizers secured screening rights for Anora and Monsieur Aznavour, allowing local audiences in Yerevan to view both films.
The 22nd Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Yerevan will run from July 13 to 20.
The film “Anora,” featuring Karagulyan and Tovmasyan, won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in May 2024. In March 2025, it received five Oscars at the 97th awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
