Tandilyan: housing plan pushes Artsakh Armenians to emigrate

Mane Tandilyan, chair of the Country to Live party, stated on Facebook that the housing issues faced by Armenians displaced from Artsakh remain unresolved. She criticized the government's long-stalled support program, describing it as an “emigration plan” that leaves Artsakh families with no choice but to leave the country.

She invited the public to attend a rally on July 12 at 6:00 PM in Freedom Square to show support.

“This is exactly the authorities’ goal — now to drive Artsakh Armenians out of Armenia. After enduring unthinkable hardship, they are now forced to fight for a dignified life in their own homeland,” Tandilyan wrote.

She emphasized that ensuring Artsakh Armenians can live in Armenia is vital for defending their rights, and called on all compatriots to stand in solidarity, symbolizing enduring unity.

According to recent adjustments in the housing assistance program for families forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, beneficiaries with unused certificate balances may now use the remaining funds for purchasing farmland, household goods, and renovation of purchased homes. For instance, if a family was issued a 30 million dram certificate and has spent only 20 million, they may use the remaining 10 million for these additional purposes.
