Pashinyan, UAE president discuss economic ties, regional peace

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi to discuss economic cooperation and regional developments.

The leaders reviewed key areas of bilateral collaboration, emphasizing the high level of mutual trust and the broad potential for expanded partnerships in economic, investment, and humanitarian fields.

Pashinyan noted that friendly relations between Armenia and the UAE continue to grow, underlining the strong prospects for cooperation across various sectors.

The UAE president reaffirmed his country’s commitment to its partnership with Armenia and expressed readiness to implement mutually beneficial initiatives through joint efforts.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to maintaining constructive dialogue and cooperation for the welfare of their peoples.

They also exchanged views on the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace initiative. Sheikh Mohammed welcomed progress on a draft Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement and expressed hope it would be signed soon. Pashinyan appreciated the UAE's role in promoting regional stability and global security.

The talks also covered several other regional issues of mutual interest.

On July 10, Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a five-hour meeting in Abu Dhabi, discussing aspects of normalizing interstate relations. Both sides affirmed that direct negotiations are the most effective format and agreed to continue this results-oriented dialogue.
