
Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Anoushirvan Bandpay, Iran’s Deputy Minister for Tourism, to discuss prospects for enhancing tourism cooperation between Armenia and Iran, as well as increasing bilateral tourism flows.
“Armenia and Iran are long-time friendly nations, and our tourism cooperation, particularly in recent years, has shown a steadily growing dynamic. In 2024 alone, nearly 179,000 tourists visited Armenia from Iran, and during January–November 2025, we have already recorded 166,000 visits,” Papoyan stated.
The meeting also included discussions on various other issues related to the development of the tourism sector.
According to Armenia’s Tourism Committee, 176,571 tourists visited the country in November 2025, compared to 152,976 in November 2024. The largest share of tourists from January to November 2025 came from Russia (41%), followed by Georgia (13%) and Iran (8%).
