
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Šekerinska to discuss ways to expand the partnership between Armenia and the North Atlantic Alliance.
During the meeting, both sides praised the growing pace of Armenia–NATO cooperation and noted that joint efforts have created favorable conditions for further strengthening their partnership.
Mirzoyan expressed confidence that the approval of a new Armenia-NATO partnership program would open doors to a more ambitious cooperation agenda.
The officials also reviewed ongoing areas of collaboration, including initiatives aimed at boosting Armenia’s resilience and implementing necessary reforms. Both sides acknowledged that Armenia’s participation in NATO peacekeeping missions has contributed significantly to practical cooperation.
Mirzoyan briefed Šekerinska on recent progress in Armenia’s normalization efforts with neighboring states. He also expressed appreciation for NATO’s support for Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its stance on promoting peace in the region. The two discussed institutional avenues for strengthening the peace process.
They also addressed regional connectivity issues and the new opportunities emerging from unblocking regional transport routes.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Šekerinska in Yerevan to discuss Armenia–NATO relations and future prospects for their development.
