
According to data released by Armenia’s Statistical Committee, 29,337 children were born in the country from January to November 2025, a drop of 1,524 births compared to the same period in 2024, when 30,861 births were recorded. This reflects a 4.9% decline in birth rates.
Infant mortality (under one year of age) increased by 8%, reaching 207 deaths compared to 191 in the same period last year. Child mortality under the age of four rose by 11.1%, with 251 deaths reported in 2025, up from 226 in 2024, according to Panorama.am .
In contrast, stillbirths declined by 13% year-on-year. While 414 stillbirths were recorded in the first 11 months of 2024, the number dropped to 360 in the same period of 2025.
The total number of deaths registered in January–November 2025 was 23,109, a slight 0.6% decrease from 23,250 deaths in the same period of 2024.
Natural population growth amounted to 6,228 people in 2025, marking an 18% drop from the previous year.
Marriage rates also fell. From January to November 2025, 12,672 marriages were registered, an 11.5% decrease from 14,315 during the same period in 2024.
Meanwhile, divorces rose slightly by 3.3%. A total of 4,419 divorces were registered in the first 11 months of 2025. This translates to 349 divorces per 1,000 marriages — up from 299 in the previous year.
