Torosyan: job seekers, unemployment nearly halved in 5 years

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan announced via Facebook that the number of job seekers and unemployed individuals has dropped by nearly half over the past five years.

According to him, the downward trend in unemployment confirms statistics indicating the creation of more jobs.

“When we talk about newly created jobs and show steady growth in recent months, we often hear some unclear noise around it.

But the statistics on growing job numbers are also confirmed by the declining number of job seekers and unemployed individuals. The attached chart shows the number of job seekers and unemployed registered with the Unified Social Service at the end of each year.

These figures demonstrate that in the past five years, we’ve reduced the number of job seekers and unemployed by nearly half. And this decline continues,” his post stated.

Earlier, Torosyan had written that 275,000 jobs were created since 2018.
