Armenia joins European AI legal framework

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has signed the Council of Europe’s Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence, Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law during his visit to Strasbourg.

This is the world’s first international legal document aimed at safeguarding fundamental human rights in the use of artificial intelligence. By signing the convention, Armenia commits to developing its AI-related legal landscape in close cooperation with international partners.

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe thanked Armenia for signing the convention and contributing to international collaboration in this critical area.

To date, 17 countries, including Council of Europe member and observer states, have signed the framework convention.
