As part of the U.S. Embassy’s Export Control and Border Security (EXBS) program, a delegation from U.S.-based S2 Global Corporation met with Edward Hakobyan, Chairman of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee, to explore the implementation of the CertScan® Inspection integration platform in Armenia’s customs system.

The S2 Global team visited Armenia for a preliminary assessment and presented how CertScan could support the country’s customs operations.

The EXBS program has allocated $3.5 million for deploying this advanced platform, aimed at strengthening border security, modernizing trade procedures, and improving revenue collection.

The CertScan platform will allow centralized control from Yerevan over images collected by x-ray scanning systems installed at various border checkpoints. These images will be integrated into a unified system to streamline operations and risk management.

According to the announcement, the system also aligns with the goals of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative, supporting regional trade expansion, risk identification, detection of suspicious shipments, and facilitation of legal commerce.

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio previously signed a joint document in Washington affirming Armenia–U.S. cooperation under the TRIPP initiative. The TRIPP framework outlines implementation guidelines but does not impose legal obligations on either country.
