
On February 6, the Embassy of Armenia in the United States, in collaboration with the international organization Care for Children, held a global conference titled “Journey of Reform for Children in Care” as part of the U.S. 250th anniversary events.
The conference brought together senior officials and experts from the United States, United Kingdom, Nepal, Iceland, and India to discuss reforms and policies in the foster care system, according to the Armenian embassy in the U.S.
Robert Glover, founder and CEO of Care for Children, spoke about the organization’s accomplishments, calling Armenia a model country and expressing gratitude to the Armenian government for its collaboration and leadership.
Other speakers included Amy Celico, Executive Director of the Schwarzman Scholars program and U.S. board member of Care for Children, and Ilaria Chan, Founding Chair of the Tech For Good Institute and member of Care for Children’s board of trustees.
Ambassador of Armenia to the U.S., Narek Mkrtchyan, delivered opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in child welfare and Armenia’s significant progress in this domain.
The conference’s keynote address was delivered by Ian Duncan Smith, a Member of the UK House of Commons.
