Pashinyan accepts invitation to Board of Peace summit

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he has gladly accepted an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to participate in the first session of the Board of Peace, scheduled for February 19.

He described U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance’s visit as a pivotal step toward institutionalizing peace and expanding Armenia–U.S. strategic partnership, Aysor.am reports.

“I presented Mr. Vance with updates on the positive developments unfolding in the South Caucasus, including details of my recent discussions with the President of Azerbaijan in Abu Dhabi, aimed at identifying new opportunities to strengthen peace between our countries,” Pashinyan said.

He reiterated Armenia’s commitment to supporting the U.S. government’s peace initiatives and the work of the Board of Peace. “I had the honor of signing its charter on January 22 during the official ceremony held in Davos,” he noted.

“I want to emphasize once more that I have received and gladly accepted President Trump’s invitation to attend the first session of the Board of Peace on February 19,” he added.

Vance arrived in Armenia on February 9, accompanied by his wife and children. He will travel to Baku from Yerevan.
