
President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance during the latter’s official visit to Armenia.
Welcoming the visit, the President emphasized that it reflects the high level of relations between Armenia and the United States.
During the meeting, President Khachaturyan highlighted the importance of establishing peace in the region, noting the significant role U.S. President Donald Trump has played in that process. He also stressed that high-level reciprocal visits contribute to expanding cooperation and further strengthening bilateral relations.
Following his meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Vance announced that Armenia and the U.S. had concluded negotiations on a Section 1-2-3 civil nuclear energy agreement, paving the way for major projects. He noted this would involve up to $5 billion in initial U.S. exports, along with $4 billion in fuel and service support.
