Vance clarifies U.S. investments in Armenia

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, speaking to reporters at Zvartnots Airport, addressed the topic of American investments in Armenia, stating that one of the documents signed on February 9, and others still under negotiation, are focused on large-scale investment projects in the country, 1lurer.am reports.

“One of them involves the construction of a very large data center. I believe it’s already underway. The total investment into that center may reach $4 billion. It will also create many jobs in the United States. So, this is a classic win-win deal. I think this project in Armenia could attract up to $4 billion in investment. You’ve already seen significant investment in Armenia, and we expect that to continue,” Vance said.

After meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Vance had earlier announced the conclusion of negotiations on a U.S.–Armenia Section 123 agreement in the field of civil nuclear energy, which opens the door for major projects up to $5 billion in initial U.S. exports, plus $4 billion in support for fuel and services.
