Sergey Pavlov, First Deputy CEO of Russian Railways, announced that the export of wheat from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan has become regular. He made the statement during the company's 2025 annual review session.
Pavlov recalled that in November 2025, after transportation restrictions through Azerbaijani territory were lifted, grain-loaded wagons from Russia reached Armenia for the first time in decades.
“Deliveries are now regular. We intend to continue cargo shipments along this route,” Pavlov stated.
In November 2025, for the first time in 35 years, 1,050 tons of Russian wheat were delivered to Armenia via Azerbaijan. Russian Railways has said it is also working on enabling transportation of other goods along the same route.
