International experts say Bishop Arshak video fake

Lawyer Arsen Babayan wrote that according to the results of international examinations, the video attributed to the Mother See’s chancellor, Archbishop Arshak, is fake.

“I have received the results of the international examinations I commissioned last November to determine the authenticity of the well-known recordings attributed to Archbishop Arshak.

The expert conclusions obtained from three different countries confirm the bishop’s assertion that he has no connection to the content of the recordings.

Among other findings, the experts reached the following conclusions:

The content of the video is fabricated and was created using specialized software tools,

The scenes shown never existed in objective reality,

It is impossible to reliably identify the individuals appearing in the video.

There are also other significant conclusions that substantively point to falsification.

In the coming days, I will convene a press conference to present the international expert findings to the public and disclose their details,” the post states.

The controversial videos were circulated in late October. Months before the release of the intimate footage, Prime Minister Pashinyan had hinted in a post at an intimate relationship between a clergyman and his aunt, without naming anyone. The video later appeared on a newly created Telegram channel. Criminal proceedings were initiated based on a report by civil society representative Daniel Ioannisyan. Archbishop Arshak was not recognized as a victim, as he denied the authenticity of the video.
