Armenian Davaro denies using foreign drone technology

Armenian unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturer Davaro has denied reports that its drones incorporate technologies developed by other producers.

In a statement, the company said the claims do not correspond to reality and that the published analyses are based on inaccurate data that do not reflect the actual characteristics of its products.

“Officially, we declare that such allegations are untrue. The analyses circulated publicly are based on imprecise information that does not match real specifications. Davaro develops its products exclusively on the basis of its own technological solutions, relying on Armenian engineering potential, accumulated experience, and scientific and technical capabilities,” the statement reads.

The company emphasized that certain similarities in UAV concepts or structural schemes cannot be regarded as imitation or copying. In aviation and defense technologies, universal engineering approaches and aerodynamic solutions are widely applied and internationally recognized as effective structural principles.

Davaro noted that its strategic objectives are focused solely on enhancing the technological level of Armenia’s Armed Forces and national security system, strengthening defense capabilities, and developing the domestic military-industrial sector.

In recent days, foreign media outlets have reported that Davaro’s UAV systems are based on technologies from other manufacturers. In particular, the company has been accused of copying or imitating the Israeli Harop loitering munition. Israeli outlet Globes wrote that the issue had reportedly caused dissatisfaction in Azerbaijan. A senior figure in Israel’s defense industry told Globes that, in his view, the technological know-how may have reached Armenia from India.
