Adelia Petrosian finishes sixth at Winter Olympics

Three-time Russian figure skating champion Adelia Petrosian finished sixth in the women’s singles event at the 25th Winter Olympic Games in Italy. She scored 214.53 points.

Petrosian fell while attempting a quadruple jump.

She performed her free skate to “Nocturne No. 1 in D Minor” and “Yo soy María.”

American skater Alysa Liu won the Olympic gold medal, while Japan’s Kaori Sakamoto and Ami Nakai placed second and third, respectively.

After the short program, Petrosian had been in fifth place. For the first time since 1960, Russia did not win a medal in figure skating at the Winter Olympic Games.
