
Armenia attaches importance to the construction of the Armenia–Georgia overhead power transmission line, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan said during a meeting with Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, noting that the project would make it possible to increase electricity exports to Georgia.
During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral agenda issues in the fields of energy and transport.
Kvrivishvili noted that Armenia holds strategic partner significance for Georgia.
The parties also emphasized the development of the aviation sector and the need to operate direct flights between cities in the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop an appropriate action plan to implement the planned initiatives.
Earlier, Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan and Mariam Kvrivishvili discussed issues related to unhindered cargo transit, deepening trade and economic ties, and tourism development.
