
Georgia is a very important partner for Armenia in the context of relations with the European Union, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a joint statement with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
“In the context of Armenia–European Union relations, Georgia is a very important partner, and we also had certain discussions on this topic. I hope we will be able to cooperate here as well and achieve certain results,” Pashinyan said, according to 1lurer.am .
The Armenian prime minister said he had provided his partners with detailed information about ongoing developments, referring to the TRIPP investment project, the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process and Armenia–Turkey relations. He also shared some information regarding Armenia–Russia relations.
Speaking about political dialogue, Pashinyan noted that it has remained active.
“We have a task to see where we can cooperate in order to manage challenges more effectively and use opportunities more efficiently,” he said.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze also addressed the regional situation and cooperation between the two countries, Aysor.am reported.
He said he welcomed the signing of a historic agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, stressing that the development creates a positive basis for strengthening stability and peace in the region.
“In this context, I would like to once again emphasize that we are ready to continue supporting peacebuilding and stability in the region. Georgia will spare no effort in this regard,” Kobakhidze said.
The Georgian prime minister also highlighted the importance of further deepening cooperation between the two countries.
“We see that the situation around us is complex, and especially against this background it is important to deepen our cooperation even further. Our countries and peoples are connected by historical ties of friendship, which serve as the foundation for strategic partnership between Armenia and Georgia,” he said.
Kobakhidze also expressed gratitude to Armenia for supporting and respecting Georgia’s national interests.
“I would especially like to thank you for supporting our territorial integrity and sovereignty,” he said.
During his working visit to Georgia, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also held a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, where the sides discussed a broad range of issues related to the strategic relations agenda between the two countries.
In this context, they also highlighted the upcoming 15th meeting of the Armenia–Georgia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, scheduled for March 4. The sides expressed confidence that the meeting would provide new momentum for strengthening bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
