On February 28, Israel and the U.S. carried out airstrikes against Iran. As a result of the strikes, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed.

Iran responded with attacks against Israel as well as toward Persian Gulf countries hosting U.S. military bases.
