New people, organizations, and groups are joining the Proposal to Armenia initiative every day, wrote Iveta Tonoyan, spokesperson for Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan, on her Facebook page.
She noted that they are closely following sociological surveys conducted by various “continents” and presented to the Armenian public, and want to state that the reality is completely different.
“In the near future, the initiative’s ranks will grow even more. We will see many interesting names and strong figures who will express support for the program. Our doors are open to all capable forces and to caring, principled, and patriotic people. We are convinced that only through unity and by combining the experience and knowledge of different sectors can we form the agenda that will truly serve Armenia’s development,” she wrote.
According to Tonoyan, Gagik Tsarukyan continues meeting with representatives of different sectors.
“Despite the enormous workload during this period, he tries not to offend anyone and, whenever possible, meets personally, listens, and discusses proposals. The reason is simple: the ‘Proposal to Armenia’ program is being formed on the basis of ideas and suggestions from concerned citizens.
At the same time, it is obvious that the consolidation forming around Gagik Tsarukyan and the supra-party public idea of a ‘Noah’s Ark’ he has put forward have caused certain shocks in well-known circles. Some of the opinions being voiced are difficult even to call criticism, as due to the absence of arguments they have descended to the level of everyday insults and have moved into the personal sphere. I will not refrain from once again calling on everyone to respect the boundaries of correct political discourse. And if those boundaries are violated, decentralized counteraction will be inevitable and delivered in a language understandable to those who use such rhetoric. Take this as a notice,” the post said.
Tonoyan also urged everyone not to present sociological survey results ordered by different sponsors as reality to the public.
