It would be a major exaggeration to say that all issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan have been resolved and that everything is smooth, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during a speech in parliament.
He noted that all infrastructure connecting with Azerbaijan will be built, operated, or reactivated on Armenia’s territory and will function exclusively under Armenia’s full jurisdiction, Aysor.am reports.
“No matter how much we talk about transit transportation, there is always the question of what guarantees can ensure peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. I always recall many peace agreements that had groups of guarantors written into them but did not work. I am convinced that all real peace exists and endures only insofar as it is beneficial for the parties involved, not for conditional guarantors. As long as our peace is beneficial for Armenia and Azerbaijan, that peace will continue to function,” Mirzoyan said.
