Armenia plans Temu sales pilot for businesses

Armenia plans to enable local businesses to organize sales on the Temu platform starting in September, following a preliminary agreement, Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan said during an internal Civil Contract campaign event.

The statement came in response to concerns raised by a trader and a request for clarification from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during an on-site discussion about the impact of online platforms on local commerce, Armenpress reports.

“There is a platform—Temu—that allows purchases from Armenia, but does not allow our producers to list and sell their products. We are now working with them and have a timeline. It is preliminarily planned that from September we should be able to start selling there, initially on a pilot basis, and then move to full-scale operations, because it is essentially very difficult to resist these processes—we need to try to benefit from them,” the minister said.
