The prosecutor has ruled not to initiate criminal proceedings against Armine Ohanyan, editor-in-chief of the Hraparak daily, the Prosecutor General’s Office said, as reported by Factor.am.
“In response to your inquiry dated March 18, 2026, we inform you that within the criminal proceedings initiated on January 10, 2025, under Article 330, Part 2, Clause 3 of the Criminal Code, the prosecutor on March 23, 2026 decided not to initiate public criminal prosecution against A.O. under Article 12, Part 1, Clause 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.
The cited provision stipulates that criminal prosecution cannot be initiated, and ongoing proceedings must be terminated, if the individual did not commit the alleged act.
A few days earlier, Armine Ohanyan had been summoned to the Investigative Committee over an editorial she wrote in the Hraparak daily at the end of 2025.
