Ruling MP warns opposition risks peace collapse

If the opposition comes to power, the entire architecture of peace will collapse, said Hayk Konjoryan, head of the Civil Contract faction in Armenia’s National Assembly.

He added that Armenia’s second president, Robert Kocharyan, is a “constant instigator of war,” Radar Armenia reports.

“Wasn’t it you who torpedoed the entire peace process? If you come to power, the whole architecture of peace will collapse,” he said.

Konjoryan also criticized remarks by an opposition representative who had again spoken about “corn” or other food, mocking the approach.

“Excuse me, don’t you eat corn or pies? Or perhaps you eat foie gras? Sorry that your aristocratic taste does not match our human and working-class palate.

There is a clash of values taking place in our country. On one side is the value where the head of state goes out into the street, communicates and debates with citizens, even apologizes. On the other side is the value where, for shortening the leader’s name, a person is taken to a restroom and beaten to death,” he stated.

Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan has said that if his team had been in power in 2020, there would have been no war, and if elected in 2021, Nagorno-Karabakh would not have been depopulated. At the same time, he stated that they have no “revanchist ambitions,” adding that such claims are spread because there is nothing else to say.
